Let’s talk social health.  In particular, education.  I believe the future-of-education topic is having a huge impact on the health of our society, in particular the social and mental health of students, parents and teachers, especially right now, summer of 2020.  As I’ve talked with other parents, I have heard their fear and seen them struggle with the decision of determining what is best for their child in the upcoming school year.  We don’t know what school will look or feel like.

In a recent study of 2,100 participants, 40% of parents are thinking of homeschooling in the fall of 2020. If you are one of these parents, this episode is for you!

Lisa Brizuela sits down with me and shares her experience both as a high school teacher in the public school system for 10 years, and homeschooling two of her three children the past four years.  Lisa never thought she’d be a homeschool mom, but after her oldest completed TK, she made the switch.  Lisa shares her story on why she made the switch, what pre-covid homeschooling is like, and answers some questions you may have.

In this episode, you will gain understanding as to:

  • The difference between covid-19 homeschooling (that everyone was thrown into) vs. homeschooling
  • Where do you start?
  • How do you know if you are being successful?
  • How to choose curriculum to fit your child?
  • What a day of homeschool looks like?
  • Is it expensive?
  • How to maintain the social health of children?
  • What are some benefits of homeschool
