This topic is quite extensive and for very good reason as you will see. It will be divided into 2 episodes due to the vast amount of information that I will be going over with you.  It involves the early diagnosis of pregnancy along with what occurs in the early part of the pregnancy as well as the prenatal care. In the first episode, I will review the diagnosis of early pregnancy, the goals of early prenatal care, as well as the effectiveness of prenatal care, and the timing of prenatal care visits.  I will then review the types of prenatal care available along with the components of the initial prenatal care visit.  I will review the screenings and tests recommended in early pregnancy along with the full laboratory tests recommended in the first prenatal care visit.  I will also review the selective screening tests as well as the clinical manifestations of early pregnancy.
