As VP of Revenue and Strategy, Deputy Director at Ada, Developers Academy, Alexandra Holien works to develop economic empowerment for those who are underrepresented in the tech industry.  Holien grew up partly in Louisiana and partly in Washington state, two very different parts of the country that gave her early insight into how race and gender can play out in different environments.  As an undergraduate, she majored in American & Ethnic Studies.  She later pursued a Master of Arts in Cultural Studies, giving her a unique lens through which to evaluate the tech industry’s progress on diversity, equity, and inclusivity.  She employs this perspective in her role to change the narrative of the narrative of technology’s current code to include a variety of shades, experiences, cultures, and identities.
