In this episode, Brian, Tim and Dave discuss Iron Eagle 2, the 1988 follow up to the film that everyone thinks is a ripoff of Top Gun, but actually came out first.  The 1986 film Iron Eagle is a beloved piece of 1980's wish fulfillment camp, wherein a teenager steals a F16 and gets into dogfights to rescue his dad.

Iron Eagle 2 is a weird mix of the Star Wars trench run and the Wild Bunch that actually totally works as a film, thanks in no small part to the magnificent actor Louis Gossett Jr..  On this episode of the podcast, we talk about how Top Gun: Maverick shares a lot of its plot with Iron Eagle 2, and how this film may have singlehandedly won the Cold War with Russia.  Enjoy!
