Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak ft. Imran Khan | Has It Aged Well?
This week on 'Has It Aged Well?' we are discussing one of the most iconic romantic films of the 80s 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak' starring Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla and directed by Mansoor Khan. To talk about the film with Abbas and Urjita we have the honour and privilege to have Imran Khan (yes, the same Imran of 'Jaane Tu..', 'Break Ke Baad' and #LautAaoImran fame) as a guest!Topics discussed include: Imran's memories of being on set, growing up in the Nasir Hussain household, Imran's "debut" performance in QSQT, Aamir Khan and Juhi being introduced to the world, the strong supporting cast,  a broader conversation on the intent and craft of films, a slight detour on Imran's film 'Kidnap' (how could we not?), and do not miss Imran pointing out a massive blunder Abbas did on the 'Ekk Main Aur Ekk Tu' episode of HIAW.You can buy Gautam Chintamani's book on QSQT here: https://amzn.in/d/5yBt0QSCheck out the HIAW episode on 'Ekk Main Aur Ekk Tu & Break Ke Baad' here: https://youtu.be/vMqGzgu7qsk?si=Q3Ygx6vUVGrMHENzCheck out the 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' episode here: https://youtu.be/XEYfI4ll9Rg?si=ZnLrBKr-gLEQvtrJCheck out the 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander' episode here: https://youtu.be/JWXl-DnjGYk?si=clVVKqHS7BzOpDLKWatch 'Teesri Manzil' here: https://www.zee5.com/movies/details/teesri-manzil/0-0-movie_262975704Watch 'Baharon Ke Sapne' here: https://www.zee5.com/movies/details/baharon-ke-sapne/0-0-8659Watch 'Hum Kisi Se Kum Nahi' here: https://www.zee5.com/movies/details/hum-kisise-kum-naheen/0-0-15468Follow Imran on instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imrankhanUrjita is touring with her solo show across India, catch her in your city: https://in.bookmyshow.com/events/urjita-wani-live/ET00395374Follow Abbas here: https://www.instagram.com/abbasmomin88/Follow Urjita here: https://www.instagram.com/urjitawani/Get early access to ‘Has It Aged Well?’ audio episodes on Amazon Music, Subscribe to the feed: https://music.amazon.in/podcasts/24d527b5-0544-4bd6-a7ff-073fa72d846a/has-it-aged-wellSubscribe to IVM Pop’s Youtube Channel here: https://www.youtube.com/@IVMPopFollow IVM Pop on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ivmpop/ See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Mr. & Mrs. 55 ft. Nasreen Munni Kabir | Has It Aged Well?
This week on 'Has It Aged Well?' we finally discuss our first Guru Dutt film. It's the romantic comedy 'Mr. & Mrs. '55' directed by Guru Dutt and written by Abrar Alvi. Joining Abbas for this episode is perhaps the most prolific chronicler of Hindi cinema - writer, film historian and documentary filmmaker Nasreen Munni Kabir. Topics discussed include Guru Dutt and his coterie of frequent collaborators Abrar Alvi, Johnny Walker etc., The difficult and confused gender politics of the film, Madhubala's run as the vivacious leading lady in the 50's, how the 'commerce vs. art' debate was seen by the filmmakers of the 50s, why Guru Dutt's 'tragic' films are more celebrated than a light hearted one like Mr. & Mrs. 55 and a lot more.Abbas is alone in the host's chair this week as Urjita is touring with her solo show across India. Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu & Break Ke Baad ft. Suchin Mehrotra | Has It Aged Well?

Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu & Break Ke Baad ft. Suchin Mehrotra | Has It Aged Well?
Forget the renaissance, it's time for an 'Imran-aissance'! For the first time on HIAW we're discussing not one but TWO films on an episode starring our favourite chocolate boy of the 2000's & 2010's: Imran Khan. The two films are Shakun Batra's 'Ek Main aur Ekk Tu' starring Imran and Kareena Kapoor and Danish Aslam's 'Break Ke Baad' where Imran's leading lady was Deepika Padukone. To talk about the movies with us it's the return of film and TV critic Suchin Mehrotra. Yes, we got him to talk about non-blue people this time (to get that reference check out the episode we did with him on 'Avatar'). Topics discussed include: What made Imran special? What happened to the romantic chocolate boy in Hindi cinema? Did we not appreciate "frothy" cinema while we had it? The subtle portrayal of modern parenting in both films, how the leading ladies had more substantial roles in Imran's films, how the two films are similar and different, and a lot more. You can find Suchin's work with FIlm Companion here: https://www.filmcompanion.in/author/suchin-mehrotra/You can listen to 'The Streaming Show' hosted by Suchin here: https://open.spotify.com/show/3BuRq7JjyOHNKEUIYgtNLdHas 'Avatar' Aged Well? : https://youtu.be/s2sxRS8X364?si=DCPIvjW03CIV_DkHFollow Abbas here: https://www.instagram.com/abbasmomin88/Follow Urjita here: https://www.instagram.com/urjitawani/Get early access to ‘Has It Aged Well?’ audio episodes on Amazon Music, Subscribe to the feed: https://music.amazon.in/podcasts/24d527b5-0544-4bd6-a7ff-073fa72d846a/has-it-aged-wellSubscribe to IVM Pop’s Youtube Channel here: https://www.youtube.com/@IVMPopFollow IVM Pop on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ivmpop/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
