"True modernism is freedom of mind, not slavery of taste. It is
independence of thought and action, not tutelage under European
schoolmasters."
N Rabindranath Tagore
Modernity was adopted by the society based on facts, science, tools,
and technologies. We have progressed by making the planet more
urban and industrialized.
The world was more reliant on religion before the transition to
modernity, but now it's all about science. Humans, for the sake of
comfort and purpose, manage to become slaves in some capacity.
However, there are two sides of a coin. The same may be said about
modernism. We have an incredible guest on this episode of All
Fingers and Thumbs,@_shivang09 , a political science student who
is fascinated by many political theories as well as literature.
We discussed modernity as a concept and attempted to
comprehend the Indian context of modernism with the help of
Gandhi and Tagore. Tomorrow, don't forget to watch or listen to our
episode.
P.S. - This is the first episode that was shot in a studio. As a result,
this is a one-of-a-kind episode. Do shower love people!
