Sara Capelli graduated from the University of Arizona in Tucson with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Double Minor in Criminal Justice and Psychology. She graduated with the intention of becoming a privatized prison warden and was accepted into the NYC police academy.

Sara took a detour and worked in politics for over 20 years - in the office of two different members of the U.S. House of Congress, for elected statewide and local candidates and as a lobbyist.  She honed her investigative skills providing in-depth opposition research on candidates and their political opponents. Her experience of electing District Attorneys and Sherriff’s renewed her drive and determination to disclose the facts. She became extremely adept at exposing criminals masquerading as politicians. And now, instead of electing those drafting laws, she investigates those who might just be breaking laws.

In 2016, she became a licensed private investigator in Richmond, Virginia focused on infidelity, skip tracing for bond recovery and worker’s compensation investigations. Sara moved her three sons to Charleston, South Carolina in 2019. Where upon, she opened Inquiry Agency a female owned investigation agency. Her business is focused on complex cases for family and criminal law attorneys. She excels in reopened and cold cases that are difficult to obtain evidence for. She is known for her intuitive and creative sleuthing to tackle extra demanding challenges. She also freelances on the side for insurance fraud companies specializing in longshoreman worker’s comp claims.
