While staying in the doghouse as a watchdog, Pinocchio woke in the middle of the night when he heard some strange whispering sounds coming from the yard. He stuck his nose out of the doghouse and saw four small, hairy animals. They were the weasels. They offered a deal to Pinocchio for not making noise while they stole the chickens and in return he will be rewarded with one chicken for himself. It was the same deal that they had cut out with the previous guard dog.

But Pinocchio made a loud bark as soon as they went in and helped the farmer to catch the weasels. Impressed, the farmer set Pinocchio free to return back to his home.
