Here it is! Our latest and last bite-sized episode of Season 3 of our Getting Real podcast.

Our CEO, Afsheen Ismail-Wey MBA, PCC, CPCC connects with Dr. Julia Sloan, Adjunct Professor at Columbia University, Award Winning Author, and Principal Consultant at Sloan international.

Dr. Sloan shares the one big thing she would like to change in the leadership space today: getting more women to contribute in strategy sessions. She believes right now there is an opportunity for women to shift from participating to contributing and that they are uniquely skilled to do so. The difference will cause a necessary shift in organizations. Dr. Sloan's views can be evidenced by the following:

  • McKinsey’s Research indicates that companies in the top quartile for gender diversity on executive teams were 25 percent more likely to have above-average profitability than companies in the fourth quartile—up from 21 percent in 2017 and 15 percent in 2014.
  • Isn’t it surprising then that female CEOs run just 4.8% of the world’s largest businesses on Fortunes global 500 list?

Listen into the full episode to see how to amplify women’s presence, voices and contribution in the boardroom. We’d love to hear your thoughts on this topic.

Thank you Dr. Julia Sloan for taking the time for this conversation!
