पिछले अंक में हमने बात की थी यौवन की और एक किस्सा सुनाया था कैंब्रिज विश्वविद्यालय का। आज करते हैं कुछ बातें प्रणय की, रोमांस की, सौन्दर्य रस की, और तुलसीदास की एक चौपाई की, "ढोल, गँवार, शूद्र, पशु, नारी, सकल ताड़ना के अधिकारी", और इन्हीं भावों से जुड़ी मधुशाला की ये कविता -

सुमुखी तुम्हारा, सुन्दर मुख ही, मुझको कन्चन का प्याला, छलक रही है जिसमें माणिक रूप मधुर मादक हाला,

मैं ही साकी बनता, मैं ही पीने वाला बनता हूँ, जहाँ कहीं मिल बैठे हम तुम़, वहीं गयी हो मधुशाला (६४)
