Laura’s son Jonny died by suicide at the age of 19 after using dabs. After Johnny’s death she formed Johnny’s Ambassador’s which focuses on marijuana prevention and education for young adults. Four years later they have over 13,000 ambassadors who have been impacted by THC use in their children, and 1,539 parents whose children are in cannabis induced psychosis. THC is very insidious, many people don't understand that one hit on a dab wax, shatter, a vape pen or on these edibles can equal 50 joints. Sadly, in Colorado, the number one cause of death in our youth is now Suicide Ages 15 to 18 and the number one substance is that you find in their toxicology reports THC. THC mimics a natural neurotransmitter that we have in our brains called anandamide. The brain thinks the THC molecule is the natural thing and allows it to bind in a receptor in our brain called cannabinoid one.
