Guest: Deputy John Gray Rex was the first dog in the program, and he is John’s dog.  When the handler gets their dog at 8 weeks, the handler is one that trains the dog.  Getting the dog a young age helps to build the bond between them and the handler. Guest: Laurie Kuntz Executive Director Honor Bell Foundation is an organization that honors our veterans.  The Honor Bell is a 1000 LB bronze bell that they take to veteran’s funerals and they ring that bell at the end of the funeral.  They primarily go to Fort Logan National Cemetery and two days a month they go to Pikes Peak National Cemetery.  The ringing of the bell is meant to symbolize the final salute to that veteran.  The bell is made from items artifacts from 12 Colorado soldiers donated, so every time the bell is pulled, those 12 soldiers take that new veteran home with them.  The rang the bell for the first time in 2016 and since then it has been pulled 6800 times.       honorbell.org

Permitting motorcycles to pass between vehicles stopped on the roadway. Now that law became into effect on Wednesday, August 7th.  Throughout the country and in Colorado include, there's been studies and research done and we've looked at historical crashes, it's very dangerous for motorcycle riders to be stopped at the back of the line of traffic and then they get rear-ended and they don't have the same protection around them.  Lane filtering is when all traffic traveling in the same direction is stopped, a motorcycle can move to the left side of a lane and share that lane with the traffic in front of it and move past the traffic at 15 mph or less.  Anything above 15 mph is not filtering, it's illegal and when as soon as that traffic begins to move, the motorcycle rider is required to merge back into the regular flow of traffic.
