Getting regulated moves you to the front of the brain, where you can consciously choose how to respond." "In codependent dynamics, the anxious person leans in with controlling energy, while the avoidant person pulls away. Like, every morning it was sitting on my sheepskin for an hour to 2 hours, doing my perfect breath work and my chanting and my Kundalini practice. And when you have a newborn and when you have little kids, it's not realistic to do that.""I moved from New York to California. And that was when I experienced my first sound bath. I had already been to rehab. I had already started meditating. I had already begun a daily gratitude practice, but I couldn't stay fully sober. When I moved to California and went to my first sound bath, it felt like something shifted within me.""I trust so deeply that the universe will put the person in front of me who can support me, can support my babies, so that I can fill up my cup and be the best possible mom to these little ones. And it's a gift to let other people love you and hold you. It feels good to help people. It feels good for him to get to care for the kids."Resources MentionedThe Surrender Experiment by Michael A. Listeners will gain valuable tools to transform self-sabotage into self-love and enhance their connection to intuition and creativity. What We Explored This Episode00:05:40: Explanation of Internal Family Systems (IFS)00:06:15: Impact of Childhood Trauma on the Nervous System00:12:58: Understanding Parts Work in IFS00:18:13: Breakdown of Manager, Firefighter, and Exile Parts00:25:24: Connection Between Inner Child and Self-Trust00:30:10: Navigating Relationships and Partner Dynamics00:35:13: The Importance of Self-Trust and Integration00:42:57: Distinguishing Between Pullback and ProcrastinationMemorable Quotes"Our society is really built on this concept of willpower, that we should just be able to will ourselves to do something, be something, know better, do better. And when we can't, we go into shame and guilt and rigidity around it. When we're trying to will parts of us into submission, we're actually disregarding some really important wisdom and creating a level of self-trust.""Firefighters are extreme protectors. If your house is on fire, you want to call the firefighters—they are going to put that out. Firefighters in our internal system can show up as addiction, eating disorders, or explosive rage and anger. They are parts of us that we feel are really extreme, and they are protecting a younger part of us.""The inner child is like the most critical piece. Yes, it holds the pain and trauma and hurt, but it is also responsible for our creativity, innocence, play, and aliveness. The more we can awaken the inner child, the more we have direct access to that, and who doesn't want that? A lot of times, those wounds become weapons. We weaponize an abandonment wound or a rejection wound, and it falls into gaslighting or making the other person feel less than for having their experience." "The work is just beginning. You can do a ton of work by yourself, but the next level of work is when you meet someone and get into a relationship. The relationship will be the ceremony, and your willingness to stay in that discomfort through it is the basis of what conscious means in a conscious relationship."Resources MentionedWaking the Tiger: Healing Trauma - A book that explores the nature of trauma and how it affects the body and mind.Connect With SamSam’s Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/samgibbsmorris/Sam’s Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/samgibbsmorris369Connect With AmieDownload My Free Breathwork Practicehttps://www.amiebarsky.com/free-breathwork Website: https://amiebarsky.com/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/amie-barsky/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/amiebarskycoaching/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@AmieBarsky?sub_confirmation=1🎙️Podcast Production & Marketing by

Some people will say it's our fifth vital sign. So I did compete again, and I didn't lose my period. The big thing was really just pulling back on stressors in my life."“Yoni is the Sanskrit word for womb. Think of where we carry children, right? Just in our pelvic area, just below the belly button. Everything's not the vagina. The vagina is internal. The external is the vulva. We have a uterus, we have fallopian tubes. So the womb just encompasses that whole area.""Cosmic breathing is a form of breath work. Place your hands on your womb, just below the belly button, and take an inhale, imagining the breath of air coming right from your clit. As children, we cling to the hope that 'maybe someday' they will fulfill our needs. This pattern often continues into adulthood, where we find ourselves repeatedly drawn to potential rather than reality in our romantic relationships."On Expressing Needs in Relationships:"There's a difference between trying to change someone and expressing your needs. It's about communicating what makes you feel loved and seen. For instance, I value words of affirmation and small gestures like notes, which might not come naturally to everyone. But when I share this openly, it invites my partner to meet my needs in ways that are meaningful to me."On Building Self-Trust:"Building self-trust involves listening to your intuition and honoring the small, often overlooked internal prompts. Whether it's taking a different route or grabbing a coffee, these actions reinforce your ability to trust your own decisions. Over time, this practice strengthens your internal guidance system, making you more confident in your choices and more attuned to your true desires."Connect with MeganMegan’s Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/megan_thoma/Megan’s Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/megan.thoma.7/Download My Free Breathwork Practice
