Beth Carmody is a passionate educator with a wealth of experience in the field, having begun her journey in education by aiding her younger brother with learning disabilities. She went on to explore various roles in education, from camp counseling to working in childcare centers and eventually becoming a kindergarten and first-grade teacher. During this time, she pursued her master's degree in educational leadership, an experience that took her to Hong Kong to serve as a principal. Now a proud principal at Hubbard Woods School in Winnetka, she is dedicated to the progressive education model and fostering a supportive community for her students, staff, and parents alike.
In this episode, you will learn about:
“Making mistakes is valued. Getting the right answer isn't the game. It's your thinking route to how this looks? What does this mean? And then I'm going to talk about how I thought about it, another student is going to talk about how they thought about it, and we're going to value each other's process.”
