We explore practical ways to construct and deliver better sermons in each episode. In part, we will take lessons from the world of TED talks and apply them to level up preaching and teaching. The theme of TED is to share “Ideas worth spreading.”

Chuck Lipp and Mike Rowe explored ideas around why TED-style talks are engaging and the relationships to Preaching. Chuck provided an overview of how he became the organizer of TEDx Lake Junaluska, and Mike gave an overview of his 30 years in ministry with over 20 years as lead pastor.

They noted differences in the weekly schedule of sermons pastors create and deliver with one-off TED-style talks. Engaging the listeners with a story is essential because they are memorable.

They touched upon other questions of structure, story, authenticity, and the use of humor.
