Ga: I lá breá geal i lár an tsamhraidh, bhí beirt chairde óga, Aoife agus Finnegan, ag siúl cois farraige gar do na hAillte Móra.
En: On a beautiful, bright day in the middle of summer, there were two young friends, Aoife and Finnegan, walking by the sea near the Cliffs of Moher.
Ga: Bhí na hAillte ard agus iontach, leis an bhfarraige gorm agus an spéir soiléir os a gcionn.
En: The cliffs were tall and magnificent, with the blue sea and clear sky overhead.
Ga: “Féach, Finnegan,” arsa Aoife le gáire, “Tógfaidh mé féinphic leis na hAillte sa chúlra!
En: "Look, Finnegan," Aoife said with a laugh, "I'll take a selfie with the cliffs in the background!"
Ga: ” Bhí Aoife ag iarraidh an pic is fearr riamh a ghlacadh.
En: Aoife wanted to take the best picture ever.
Ga: D’fhéach sí trína ceamara, ag iarraidh an radharc iontach a chur i gcrích.
En: She looked through her camera, trying to capture the wonderful view.
Ga: Ach, níor thug sí faoi deara an beagán fear atá ina luí faoin bhféar glas.
En: But she didn't notice the little creature lying in the green grass.
Ga: Scaoil sí léi a cos agus, tobann, bhuail sí le haon rud beag.
En: She kicked her foot, and suddenly, she bumped into something small.
Ga: Thit Aoife ar an talamh le plimp!
En: Aoife fell to the ground with a thud!
Ga: Amach as a cuid lámh, chuaigh a fón ag eitilt tríd an aer.
En: Out of her hand, her phone flew into the air.
Ga: “Ó, mo chroí!
En: "Oh, my heart!"
Ga: ” arsa an rud beag go geargach.
En: said the small thing angrily.
Ga: Bhí sé gléasta i seaicéad glas agus hata deas.
En: It was dressed in a green jacket and a nice hat.
Ga: Firín beag a bhí ann, fear beag leis an mbeirt acu a bheith ag rá gurb é leipreachán a bhí ann.
En: It was a little man, both of them saying he was a leprechaun.
Ga: Bhí gáire ar Finnegan nach féidir a chur ar ceal.
En: Finnegan couldn't contain his laughter.
Ga: Bhí sé chun tosaigh agus ag preabadh ón ngáire.
En: He was doubling over with laughter.
Ga: “Aoife, an bhfuil tú ceart go leor?
En: "Aoife, are you okay?"
Ga: ” arsa Finnegan idir na hurchair gáire, ach ní fhéadfaí a dhéanamh amach an raibh bá aige lena chara nó an mbeadh sé chun magadh fúithi go deo.
En: said Finnegan amidst the bursts of laughter, but it couldn't be concluded whether he was concerned for her or whether he was going to make fun of her forever.
Ga: “Finnegan, ná bíodh magadh agat orm!
En: "Finnegan, don't you laugh at me!"
Ga: ” arsa Aoife go hógárasach, ag seasamh arís, “Agus tú, a fhir bheag, nach tú atá aisteach!
En: said Aoife petulantly, standing up again, "And you, little man, aren't you strange!"
Ga: ” “Aisteach, an ea?
En: "Strange, indeed?"
Ga: ” arsa an leipreachán ag socrú a hata, “Is mise Seán, agus ní féidir liom ligean duit imeacht gan mo chuid óir a fháil ar ais!
En: said the leprechaun, adjusting his hat, "I am Seán, and I can't let you leave without finding my gold back!"
Ga: ”“Óir?
En: "Gold?"
Ga: ” arsa Finnegan le teann iontais, ag cur stop leis an ngáire.
En: said Finnegan with a strong surprise, interrupting the laughter.
Ga: “Sea!
En: "Yes!"
Ga: ” arsa Seán an leipreachán, “Chuir do chara isteach orm nuair a thit sí, agus scaip mo phota óir i ngach treo leis an gcrith sin!
En: said Seán the leprechaun, "Your friend disturbed me when she fell, and scattered my pot of gold in all directions with that shake!"
Ga: ”“Ach, ní fhaca mé aon ór,” arsa Aoife, ag faire timpeall uirthi go cráite.
En: "But I didn't see any gold," said Aoife, looking around her anxiously.
Ga: “Tá sé i bhfolach,” arsa an leipreachán, “Caithfidh tú cabhrú liom é a fháil sula dtéann an ghrian síos, nó caillfidh mé mo chumhachtaí!
En: "It's hidden," said the leprechaun, "You must help me find it before the sun goes down, or I'll lose my powers!"
Ga: ”Agus mar sin, chuir Aoife agus Finnegan fúthu, ag obair le chéile leis an ór a aimsiú.
En: And so, Aoife and Finnegan set out, working together to find the gold.
Ga: Bhí siad ag méarú fad is a d'fhoghlaim siad faoi chéile – a gcroíthe cróga, a spiorad fíochmhar, agus a gcumas a bheith ag gáire fiú nuair a bhionn cúrsaí diana.
En: They were searching far and wide, and they learned from each other— their brave hearts, their adventurous spirit, and their ability to laugh even when things are tough.
Ga: Tar éis uair an chloig, bhí siad tar éis an ór go léir a bhailiú agus a thabhairt ar ais do Sheán an leipreachán, a bhí an-bhuíoch.
En: After an hour, they had gathered all the gold and returned it to Seán the leprechaun, who was very grateful.
Ga: “Gabhaim buíochas libh, Aoife agus Finnegan,” arsa Seán, “as bhur gcineáltas agus bhur ngrá.
En: "Thank you, Aoife and Finnegan," said Seán, "for your kindness and your love.
Ga: Mar bhronntanas, tabharfaidh mé sealbhán beag díbh.
En: As a gift, I will give you a little treasure."
Ga: ”Chuir Seán draíocht ar a lámha agus bheannaigh a mbia go léir le blasta níos saibhre agus bainne níos bainne.
En: Seán cast a spell with his hands and blessed all their food to be tastier and their milk to be richer.
Ga: Ansin, le preab púca, d'imigh sé ar ais isteach sna clocha.
En: Then, with a leap, he disappeared back into the rocks.
Ga: Le micreathuras den sórt sin taobh lúcháir na hAillte Móra, bhí ceangal níos láidre anois idir Aoife agus Finnegan, agus chuimhnigh siad i gcónaí ar an lá nuair a casadh leipreachán orthu, an bheirt acu ag gáire os ard agus ag súgradh faoi scairt an tsolais gealaí.
En: With a creature like that beside the joy of the Cliffs of Moher, there was now a stronger bond between Aoife and Finnegan, and they always remembered the day when they met a leprechaun, both of them laughing out loud and playing under the shine of the bright light.
