The gripping show was recently released in January 2024. Additionally, Joel has brought to life the beloved character Hakoda in Netflix's live-action adaptation of "Avatar: The Last Airbender," (Premiered Feb 22, 2024) showcasing his ability to seamlessly transition between genres and mediums. Montgrand is also known for his role in the award-winning film “Beans” as Kania’tariio.

Joel D. Montgrand was raised by his mom, moshom, and his kokum, surrounded by five aunties, an uncle, and more cousins than he could count in La Ronge, Saskatchewan — the northernmost end of the longest highway in the province. He is Rocky Cree, a member of Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation.
