Lyon's Gate HOA Podcast

Welcome to episode 15 of the Lyon’s Gate HOA Podcast. Lyon’s Gate resident Sarah Jo Frasier is running for the open seat on the HOA Board of Directors. Each candidate has the option of being interviewed on this podcast as part of the process and Sarah Jo opted to take advantage of that option.

Sarah Jo joined me via Zoom to observe social distancing. The HOA Board of Directors approved 5 questions to be asked of every candidate wishing to be interviewed. These are the questions I asked Sarah Jo:

  1. How long have you lived in Lyon’s Gate?
  2. Why are you running for the Lyon’s Gate Board of Directors?
  3. What strengths do you possess that would contribute to the success of the Lyon’s Gate community?
  4. Do you currently volunteer in the community and if so, in what capacity?
  5. What’s important for others to know about you?

Candidates are also asked to provide a short (200 words max) bio to be included on the ballot. Here’s Sarah Jo's 200 word bio:

My name is Sarah Jo Frasier. I have lived in Lyon’s Gate with my dog Alex since December 2018. It is truly my home. As a homeowner, I take pride in what Lyon’s Gate represents. I love my morning runs in the community and seeing so many residents out and about.

I would make an excellent member of the board. I will serve as a representative of families and answer to you first. Building a relationship with the people in Lyon’s Gate is an important part of being a board member. I promise to take my role seriously while upholding the values and needs of the people and the community. I will serve with the mindset of making smart long-term business decisions that ultimately increase property values and ensure that Lyon’s Gate stays a desirable neighborhood to move into and be a part of. As a government/economics teacher for 10 years, I held many leadership positions within my district. Civic service and fiscal responsibility were important topics I incorporated into every lesson. Being an HOA member is the perfect opportunity to serve and foster a positive connection with even more community members. After leaving teaching, I have found more time and a desire to serve. I work from home for a tech company. This allows more time I can dedicate to serving the residents. I would love the opportunity to serve you as a member of the Lyon’s Gate HOA board.
