On this episode, we interviewed a very special guest: Heulwen Marina Carrier. Marina is a Christian author based in Scotland. For over a decade, she has been helping women online navigate trauma and live an authentic faith life. Marina shared the story of her early childhood experience of being unwanted and rejected by her mom & abused by her step father until the age of 9 years old. She carried the guilt/pain of rejection as a little child and falsely believed she had to bear her own pain alone. Despite a tumultuous childhood, she was believed that the hand of God always carried her. She was blessed with great intellectual abilities enabling her to excel academically including earning a PhD degree and having a successful academic career. She experienced a true turning point & true encounter with God after a 4 year relationship to the man she loved ended. This left her feeing empty and desperate for a change. Being encouraged by her students through God's word, she began to lean on the Holyspirit for healing and encouragement. She shares how trauma can separate a person and why people with trauma feel a sense of powerlessness and how they can overcome it. She shared a useful tool called EFT/Tapping technique, which helped her come to terms with the abuse she suffered in the hands of her step dad and can help anyone overcome their our pain.
