The Research Rabbit Hole That Led Me To Start this Podcast, Episode 26

Autobiology with Jennifer Little-Fleck

15-10-2021 • 42 mins

Everyone has an origin story...that defining moment when one piece of new information changed everything... that point at which you realized everything you THOUGHT you knew was either wrong or only a tiny part of the bigger picture.

Once you get to that point, you can't go back. And the more you move forward, the more you find out how much you need to learn.

My journey started with a random sentence in a journal article, proposing that diseases were occurring in younger people because our food has changed. I had no idea what digging into that sentence would eventually lead me to.

Why is food different now?

Why are we getting sick at a younger age?

Why have the mortality rates in the US not changed in 100 years?

Shouldn't we be living longer with the technology and medicine we have now?

Where has food and our practice of medicine gone wrong?

What can we do to move our healthspan forward?

A lot. However, the research is not in the medical community anymore. It's in the private sector with biotech companies that are doing the research our health authorities should be doing, but are not.

And that's what is so cool about biohacking. That's what I want to share with you. Basic biology combined with cutting-edge longevity research.

Fun times ahead!
