This week on Beyond Sunday, Seth introduces you to Jesus as someone who insists that you go through storms as a way of growing your faith and reliance on Him. We all spend a lot of our lives in storms, but with the right preparation we can come through the other side of the storm better than when we entered it! Life is about perspective; we can choose to continue to struggle and focus on the negative, or we can choose to focus on the great things around us because of our focus on Jesus. The second option is where Jesus is trying to get us to.

This week on Beyond Sunday we continue the series, Let me Introduce You to J. In this week's episode we find Jesus defending a woman caught in adultery and the story can be found in John Chapter 8. We discuss the importance of compassion and forgiveness. More importantly, we have learned to internalize most of the judgements we see given out all around us and condemn ourselves. We discuss how it is important to understand the compassion that Jesus has and that we are not only supposed to be compassionate and forgiving to others, but also to ourselves. This is where anxiety comes in, because the enemy tries to get you to replace your confidence with anxiety and fear. But we have excellent examples with many people from the Bible that we can learn from. But you must spend time with Him in order to have a hope to anchor your confidence in and to protect against when the enemy attacks with doubts that are going to rock you if you are not prepared.

This week we discuss the importance of taking a rest from our work. God showed us how important this is when He took time off for Himself after creating the Universe. If he can take the time, certainly we can too! Research and studies have shown that by getting the proper rest, that we are more productive and engaged at work. So we must learn how to shut everything down and re-charge our batteries, just as God has shown us, if we want to be our best. Enjoy the Show!

In continuing with discussing key leadership topics. This week we discuss the importance of communication and the power that your words have in every scenario. We often underestimate the power of the words we speak, as evidenced by how often there are cases of miscommunication. This often causes many conflicts and troubles that if we just learn to communicate effectively, the problems would happen less frequently. So get ready to be more effective in your marriages, workspaces, and community with what we learn in today's episode!

Beginning this week we will spend a few weeks talking about leadership and how to be effective leading in our lives. This week we will use the example of David who was anointed to be the King of Israel from a young age. But he didn't become King until several years later. However, he was most effective at all that he did prior to becoming a King and early on as King because he focused on the idea of "What is Important Now?". Often times we ask the question of "When will I...?" fill in the blank. But in order to get to what God has promised in your life, instead change "when" to "WIN" and ask "What is Important Now?" This will change your perspective and allow you to grow into your promises in God's timing and make you a much more effective leader in all areas of your life.

Have you ever thought how amazing it would be to have the faith like some of the amazing people you read about in the Bible that allowed you to be as bold and courageous as them? I certainly have. In this episode I use the example of Stephen, the first Christian Martyr. There is so much that we can learn from how he responded in the face of persecution. Many of the lessons we learn from his example can be applied in the world we currently live in and we can all be just as bold and courageous. This week I continue to discuss the importance that we play in impacting future generations in our families. It is important to understand that God operates on a different time scale and uses situations to change trajectories of not just us, but our family long after we are gone. We use the example of Joseph and how God used his time in captivity to mold him into the person he needed to be to be effective for his future role that ultimately would impact the entire nation of Israel. We have the same type of opportuntiy now. But are we giving God the reason to trust us and use us? Join me this week as we talk out this topic on Beyond Sunday!

This week I discuss the impact that my Grandfather had on me at a young age in teaching the importance of having a relationship with Jesus. The significance of this cannot be overstated because we have examples from the Bible that teach us that God works in a different timing and works through generations. Some of us have been fortunate to have these experiences, but many of us have not and we have had to experience Jesus on our own without an example to learn from. But Jesus wants to work through you now to impact many of your future generations that will come after you. Tune in to the show this week to see just how important your walk with Jesus will impact many generations after you long after you depart this world.

Most of us know that Judas was the person that betrayed Jesus. We often make comments and comparisons about someone else's character as it relates to Judas' character we read about in the Bible, because we inherently know that it is such a character flaw to betray those close to us. But it may surprise a lot of us to realize that we often display a lot of characteristics similar to Judas when it comes to how we interact with Jesus. What is more amazing is that Jesus still loved Judas and He loves us too despite our flaws. Join me this week as I discuss this topic while we are in Holy Week and prepare to celebrate Easter.

In this episode I discuss the oldest temptation that the enemy has thrown at humans since the beginning of time. That is the temptation to focus on what we lack. We often focus a lot of our attention on all of the things that we don't have, all while there is an abundance of blessings and resources all around us that we are taking for granted. By refocusing our relationship with Jesus and allowing Him to bring those blessings back into the correct focus, we will be able to live freer and more peaceful lives. We can get back to prioritizing things correctly, get relationships back on track, and ready to accept newer blessings that God has in store for us. I hope that you enjoy the show!

In this week's episode we I discuss the idea of chasing failure. Sounds weird right? But I learned from one prominent leader that there is so much to be gained through learning from failures that make us so much better in everything we do. In Joshua 1:9 we read the popular verse to be strong and courageous...but that advice is also located in many different passages throughout the bible. Which means that this is a very important concept to God. So whatever you are facing go after it with strength and courage even if that means you may fail; because there will be important lessons along the way that will make you and everyone else around you better for it!

Most of us fit into 2 categories, we are either seeking to be blessed or we are seeking to be a blessing to others. However, most of the time the ones that are seeking to be a blessings to others are the ones that feel the most blessed. This week I discuss the importance of mentorship and the power that comes from giving of our time to pour into others and the difference that it can create in the environment that surrounds us and unlocks so many new avenues. The same as it did for those people in the bible that understood the importance of strong, mentoring relationships.
