Pakistan is seeking a fresh bailout package from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to manage its daunting debt burden. United States has pledged its support to Pakistan's economic stabilization efforts, encouraging prioritization and expansion of economic reforms. When asked if the US would support Pakistan in challenging times, State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said, "Pakistan has made progress to stabilise its economy, and we support its efforts to manage its daunting debt burden. We encourage the government to prioritise and expand economic reforms to address its economic challenges." On the other hand Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud pledged full support for Pakistan's economic progress during his visit to Islamabad.
