How to Battle Vested Interests (with Brent Urbanik)

Irida TV Podcast

08-02-2024 • 1 hr 28 mins

It often feels impossible to resist large organizations that have become entrenched and corrupt. How could anyone possibly fight back against entities that have access to so many resources? Any vested interest develops a weakness, and resistance must include exploiting that weakness.

This episode is a practical, real world example of what it takes to successfully challenge and old organization with a new one!

Brent Urbanik of EducateMiami.org joins Dylan Moore of Irida TV to discuss his work to create a new teachers union in Miami-Dade County, Florida to challenge and replace the existing teachers union. Brent details what he believes is causing the current union to focus on goals other than teachers and students, and what his challenging union would do to address current issues and prevent future corruption.
