The Netflix super series Harry & Megan is a hit the world over. However, what’s the back story? In part one we learned that  Harry really served in a combat role in Afghanistan in the British army before the press rumbled him. We asked is Meghan a spoilt Hollywood troublemaker? We also established that the Royal Family and the British press didn't her original headline grabbing beauty or novelty that outstaged other royals. Was she then simply a  capable, successful and tenacious black woman, who as  an outsider refused to be cowed an antiquated system and its allied exclusive single hued press pack? Did/does this make Meghan and Harry a threat to the British monarchy and hence the British state? Is a Royal institution even theoretically viable in a true democratic state? as can a country be truly democratic, if every citizen is not free to become the head of state by their own endeavour? Can we Brits perceive or even contemplate our society without the Royals and are we wrong not to be able to?
