How do you inspire the next generation of animal advocates? With humor and empathy mixed in with the cold, hard facts. Charly Kayle talks to author and activist Christopher Locke, creator of the young adult series "The Enlightenment Adventures", about fun-loving wildlife characters who go on dangerous adventures to save animals and (attempt to) redeem humanity. Christopher Locke worked in the television industry for over a decade before pursuing his passion project, The Enlightenment Adventures—a young adult book series that combines thrilling entertainment and education to inspire the next generation of animal advocates. The first book, Persimmon Takes On Humanity, debuted to rave reviews in 2015, and the highly anticipated second book, Vincent and The Dissidents, published in April 2018. As a vegan and avid animal activist, Christopher speaks at renowned animal rights events around the country. He also works as the Member Liaison for Independent Book Publishers Association—the largest publishing trade association in the U.S. When he's not volunteering for numerous organizations, his favorite moments are spent with his brilliant wife (and fellow animal advocate), two delightful dogs and mischievous cat. Find out more at christopher-locke.com Learn more about your ad choices.
