The proponents of the teaching that says “Forgiveness of Sins Happened at the Cross” use 2 Corinthians 5:18-19. There is no verse that says that forgiveness of sins happened at the cross so they use a text about reconciliation and imputation and echo this teaching that is held by most denominations, the catholic church and even some cults - all of which do not rightly divide the word of truth. All the Pauline verses that expressly mentions the term “forgiveness or forgiven” show that forgiveness of sins happen when all the terms or components of Reconciliation, Imputation and Justification (among others) are met and that is, when one is saved.
