Modern stand-up comedy is just getting established in India, and it is still quite new in Kannada and Karnataka. Beyond stand-up, the realm of comedy includes everything from improvisational comedy, sketch comedy, online digital creation and more.

On Episode 121 of the Thale-Harate Kannada Podcast, comedian Sonu Venugopal joins hosts Pavan Srinath and Ganesh Chakravarthi to share her thoughts about how the Kannada comedy space is evolving, as well as her own experiences.

Sonu Venugopal is a stand-up comedian, improviser, digital creator and radio professional. With over 8 years of experience in Hindi and Kannada radio, Sonu is a member of the popular Kannada comedy group Tharle Box and a part of the ImproWise improv group. She also has popular online Kannada comedy series such as "Baaji Mani Kaaku" and her work overall has been viewed and enjoyed by millions.
