John 17:11

11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. - KJV

When Jesus prayed to God in the above verse, He prayed for unity. Major news headlines may appear contrary because followers and leaders alike strive with each other daily. The person and work of false leaders and brethren today does not invalidate the prayer of Jesus – the Church is one.
