05-01-2022 • 24 mins

Tyler Galley is a recipient of STEM Fellowship's Digital Citizenship Graduation Award and is currently studying engineering at Queen's University. During his time in high school in Calgary, Tyler volunteered his time to produce and edit a multitude of videos to promote various initiatives and foster school spirit. Inspired by a personal interest in video editing and a desire to make a positive impact on his local community, Tyler started off by using his skills to create promotional sports highlight reels for school tournaments and pep rallies. From there, he went on to expand his range of work, with some notable highlights including producing videos for his school's Diversity and Pluralism Committee, working with his peers to create weekly school videos to keep everyone connected during COVID lock-downs, and helping adapt his school's morning announcements to a live-streamed format to promote interconnectedness during the pandemic.

In this episode, we discuss Tyler's journey to winning STEM Fellowship’s Digital Citizenship Graduation Award (DCGA), how you can apply for the DCGA, transitioning from high school to university, and finding your passion. Have fun listening!
