Welcome to Episode 7 of the Drumwell Podcast!

I wanted to go somewhere a little different this month.  I've heard the term "Prehab" being used a fair bit in recent times, and it got me thinking, what if we could target and strengthen areas of our body where repetitive movements cause injuries, well before the injury even has a chance to develop?

The Funtional Movement Training course that I completed a couple of years back was excellent in that it was focussed on treating the cause rather than just the sypmtoms. But what if we could train our bodies well before this? Two of the movements I learned at the very beginning of my course was the Hip Hinge, and the Sit to Stand Squat. Both of these movements are essential for building a strong posterior chain as well as a strong core, which in my opinion is very necessary for longevity in drumming.  So let's dive in to these moves on this episode!

Disclaimer: I'm not a professional in body movements and I'm only sharing my own opinions and experiences. I would highly recommend that you consult with a trainer, physiotherapist, exercise physiologist, or another trusted professional in order to create good form and move correctly.
