The Amazing World of Trans Experiences

In Episode 20, Ezrah goes solo and discusses how they knew when it was their time to let people into their life as a trans individual. Sometimes the now-or-never moments come up faster than expected, but you gotta stick to it and choose yourself.

Unfortunately, summer is over. School has begun. We are busy boys so enjoy this week-old episode while we get on our school grind! Ming and Ezrah discuss going back to school, what being trans on campus means for us, and what we plan to do for the semester. If you see us struggling to walk up hills on campus... no you didn't.

Episode 18 is with me, ya boi Ezrah, where I let you into my brain. I am now constantly thinking about others and how I can better myself... but that brings in a lot of anxiety, so how can I cope with it all? In this episode, I contemplate my entire existence, how I treat others, and how I can learn to love myself. Buckle up; it's a bumpy ride.

Well... that depends. In episode 17, we reflect on our deadnames (WITHOUT TELLING YOU THEM, NOT YOUR BUSINESS) and the love-hate relationship one can have with something as important as your name. Transitioning to a new name/identity is almost as complicated as medically transitioning. We discuss the origins of our names and middle names, which are so dope you just might want to change yours.

Two of the three are on vacation! Sorry, Gabe! We'll see you soon ;) Ez and Ming take on Massachusetts for a family vacation. Since the overturning of Roe v. Wade, we have been spending our time processing and practicing self-care to help us move forward in the actions we take. So why not puzzle? We discuss vacation, how we are healing, and what life might be like after Roe.

Okayyy, more like 11 to 4, BUT we are students, and our fun time is OUR fun time. In episode 15, Ming and Ezrah (sorry, no Gabe this time) discuss their experiences working different jobs before starting testosterone, working during the second-puberty process, and working as a cis-passing men. We are so stoked to hear his thoughts and experiences as a latinx transman who began his journey to finding himself long before we did. Gabriel, we love you and can't wait to bully you on set!!

Happy end of semester college homies! If you're still in school, well that really sucks for you. Listen and feel like you're sitting outside with us in the nice summer sun and enjoy a homework-free day. We talk about what we have been up to and our plans for the summer.

Episode 12 houses a special place in our hearts. With our lovely guest and forever bestie, Melon, on the show, we have a nice time chillin' in our new office space (Ezrah's car) and discussing finals week. Sit back, relax, study hard (or don't), and enjoy the vibe.

This week we interviewed our psychology and women's, gender, and sexuality studies professor, Dr. Kala Melchiori, who taught us about the psychology of women and gender and attended the Chicago conference with Ezrah. She gives the inside scoop on what it's like living in the city as a graduate student (while pregnant too, whew!) and as a professor who is not afraid to start a committee to fight injustice. She's changing the world, and we want to join her.

CHICAGOOOO! CHICAGOOOO! Ezrah travels to the windy city with his research lab to present a study at the Midwestern Psychological Association conference. Sadly Ming could not fit in a carry-on bag (no way was Ezrah paying for another checked bag), so he had to stay with the pets. In this special episode, Ezrah gives a rundown of a few presentations he listened to during his trip.  Lastly, we both wanted to give a huge thanks again to those who agreed to present for our podcast! Guest Alert! Ezrah decided to be bold and invite his biopsychology professor, Dr. Melanie Shoup-Knox, onto the show. In episode 9, we talk about how Dr. Shoup-Knox works as an ally by maintaining an inclusive environment in her curriculum for students and in her home with her family. We also discuss her super extraordinary research (that Ezrah will soon be joining...), but you'll have to listen to find out more!!

In episode 8, we talk about all the good shit that has been happening to us and how we have been able to thrive recently. We've been on our homework, research, work, podcast, and fun-with-friends GRIND—time to sit outside and bask in all our glory... and make a quick phone call.

In episode 7 we take a breather to see where the homies are at. Between creating connections, having microphone issues (and having to purchase new microphones), and the arrival of our business cards, we've been busy boys. Sometimes you just gotta see what's new outside of the chaos. Happy Monday!

Episode 5 covers recent transgender legislation, well, at least what we can understand from it. With Florida and Texas riding into their transphobic sunset together, we look into what our home state of Virginia has against the trans community (spoiler alert: there are currently four anti-trans bills in committee) and how we can help the public stay informed.

Episode 4 introduces a new friend to the podcast: Bobert, our trans bestie. He lets us in on his experiences as a trans man and how he survived catholic school, intramuscular shots, and transitioning in high school. With the help of long-term love and dope trans homies, his trans joy has been able to outshine it all.

In episode 3, we discuss how testosterone and transitioning have made it more challenging to deal with our rage. We are pretty laid-back homies; why are we so ready to fight now? How can we work with ourselves and our changing bodies to find balance? Wish us luck.
