VGK goalies Jonathan Quick (The Amazing Jonathan) and ("The Other Guy") Jiri Patera secured wins in Charlotte and St. Louis over the weekend. The stage belonged to Quick on Saturda as he recorded his 58th career shutout with a 4-0 blanking of the Hurricanes. He had 33 saves and is 3-0 since joining the Golden Knights after the all-star break. Sunday, Patera stopped a Blues comeback late by saving 30 of 33 shots in his first NHL win. The Golden Knights held on for a 5-3 win. It was a one-goal game until former Blues star Alex Pietrangelo scored an empty netter. The game didn't start off well for Patera as he took a blast off his chin from StL's Colton Parayko. But he held on to get the win. We saw repots Sunday that injured goalies Logan Thompson and Laurent Brossoit returned to skating over the weekend. VGK's Keegan Kolesar was sent back to Las Vegas for evaluation after a lower leg injury was suffered in Carolina. Pavel Dorofeyev took his place, but played on the second line and scored his first NHL goal and had an assist. VGK got out to early leads in each of the weekend games.
