VGK gave up its most goals in a game this season by falling to the desperate Calgary Flames 7-2 at the Fortress Thursday night. The win was the first in nine tries at T-Mobile Arena for the Flames. VGK did battle back from two goals down in the contest as Zach Whitecloud and Reilly Smith scored goals to level the game at 2-2. But then the Flames scored the final five goals to lead to the lopsided loss. VGK had a nine game points streak at home and had a four-game winning streak snapped by Calgary. We did get a chance to see Paul Cotter's first NHL fight, which sparked the VGK for a while. The Golden Knights were too sloppy with turnovers and the couldn't protect the puck in the loss. Bruce Cassidy said afterward: "we got in our own way." Jonathan Quick suffered his first loss since being traded to VGK. The Golden Knights should have an easy afternoon on Sunday as they face the Columbus Blue Jackets in a 1pm matinee. The last place Blue Jackets are in full tank mode and will be playing their third game in four days. We also have our weekly WTF segment.
