Lauri has spent the past decade as an energy analyst focusing on climate, energy, and air pollution issues across Asia, having been based in Beijing from 2015 to 2019. His research has primarily concentrated on China’s coal consumption, CO2 emissions trends, sources of air pollution, and the development of the country's coal-fired power and steel industries.
