Mental health recognition is evolving in the Haitian community. The Innovative Learning Laboratory at Morehouse School of Medicine is helping drive the awareness within young Haitian Americans through the Haitian American Young Adult Mental Health Worker Program. The participants are equipped with knowledge, materials, technology and other resources to ensure that they meet the goal of addressing the disparities, stigma and other challenges surrounding mental health among Haitians and the youth. With culturally competent approaches, the program is producing leaders who are passionate about this movement.
