The topic of race relations does not have to lead to fear, resentment, or broken relationships. Johana-Marie Williams, whom I call my walking encyclopedia, uses her background in history, research and community activism to help prepare us to engage in discussions that can enhance our understanding of each other, thus potentially remedying some of the damage done in our society by avoiding these conversations.
