Metallica is synonymous with many things.  Metal, success, screwing up our burned CD compilations after upending Napster (sometimes you just want to follow up “The Unforgiven” with “Purple Rain,” while you eat your feelings).  We’ll get into that but more importantly, we’re paying homage to a band that influenced our musical tastes, provided us with countless memories and paved the way for many bands to evolve, thrive and not be categorized by a genre or label.  Through their influence, their sound and their history, we will discuss the music and the stories of one of rock’s influential bands.  This week on Formidable Opponents we debate, “Best Metallica Song.”  Oooooooh, Yeah-heh!
