In hot stove news, Arizona State Sun Devils basketball head coach Bobby Hurley has officially signed an extension to keep him in his position with the program running through the 2025-26 college basketball season. Hurley was approached with the extension a year ago and opted not to sign it. But today, Hurley officially signed the deal and it has been met with mixed reviews from the fans. On one side of the court, retaining Hurley means retaining continuity as Arizona State Sun Devils athletics transitions from the PAC-12 to the Big 12 Conference. It also (hopefully) means some of the key players to this past season's team like Frankie Collins and Jamiya Neal may be more inclined to stay under the coach who brought them here. On the other side, perhaps starting over was necessary and a fresh start made the most sense with the aforementioned conference change.
