The Arizona State Sun Devils basketball team needed some magic in their final five games of the 2022-2023 season if they wanted to make the NCAA Tournament and participate in March Madness. Part of the formula was getting a marquee win and upset over either Arizona Wildcats basketball or UCLA Bruins basketball. Both games being on the road and both teams being ranked inside the top 10 was going to make this a prayer's chance. However, the team's prayers were answered when Desmond Cambridge Jr.'s half-court+ shot went down and the Sun Devils won 89-88 at the McKale Center in Tucson. Whether you dub the play "The McKale Mary" or "The Shot Heard Around the State" or anything else, the bottom line is this shot may have saved the season for the Sun Devils and their post-season hopes remain alive. Host Richie Bradshaw breaks down the shot, the game itself, and what this means and will do for the rest of the Arizona State Sun Devils basketball season on this edition of the Locked On Sun Devils podcast.
