Functional Chaos

We're just 3 women in our 20s doing the best we can with what we have and we want to unapologetically give it to others that may need to feel that. Life is way to unforgiving to be so judgmental and serious. We created a space to talk about things that matter to us and make us laugh. read less

Ep. 6 Lil' Thickums - Ostracism, Ollier's Disease, and Octopus
This week the chaotic gals take an alternative approach to a topic that might be triggering for some with toxic family members. We ask that you check in with yourself if you choose to listen and always put your needs first. There will always be another episode in 2 Mondays! 🖤  Thanksgivings day is upon us here in the USA, and as we all can relate, that can be an extra hard time of year for a lot of us. Kali wants to be here to validate your feelings by speaking up about ostracism in the family connection. Skip this portion of the episode if this is a sensitive subject. Devan gives us an inside scoop into the life of her love, Travis, who has a rare condition called Ollier's Disease. Fascinating and unfortunate as it may be, we learn that that's never stopped Travis from tearing it up on the drums or pursuing his career in music production. He is also the reason we can even sound so amazing, so a very special thanks to him! Thank You Travis!! Jade has had a hard couple weeks, so she gave us some very interesting, scary, and riveting facts about our cute little sea creatures, the Octopus! Except those Blue Ringed tiny ones, those can just be on its way! 😅 Sources & Links: Ostracism -  https://psychcentral.com/blog/childhood-neglect/2020/01/families-that-exclude-ostracize-or-ignore-and-the-harm-they-do#2 https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/unified-theory-happiness/201612/5-ways-cope-ostracism?amp https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9BAXkwVNj0 Ollier's Disease - https://rarediseases.org/rare-diseases/ollier-disease/ Octopus - https://30a.com/10-astounding-facts-octopuses/
