When he awakens he is still in San Francisco. He realizes he too has power in Absentia. Sludge appears and gives Perry one final chance. Perry snatches Sludge’s magical glasses off of his face, sends the signal back to San Francisco, and runs for it, a now weakened Sludge in hot pursuit. They seem to have captured one of the Socklings. Perry marks the spot for future missions and continues to explore. Sludge finally appears and turns Perry into a giant, announcing that the time for revenge is nigh. Wracked with guilt, two of the children, Nick and Mona, go into the washer to try and rescue him, only to discover a magical world beyond the machine where everything that gets buried in the soil blooms to life. They also discover that JD is now the master of this strange world and has grown older, more powerful, and very angry at the people that failed to help him. Them! Nick and Mona barely escape back to San Francisco with their lives. Upon return The Laundronauts pledge to rescue JD and bring him back home no matter what the cost.
