On ...and On Air!

OnAndOnAir

What’s “On… and on air”? It’s a discussion between friends…suffering from the modern “malaise” of ADHD… going on and on and on about the challenges of life and trying to make sense of their individual observations and experiences. Engaged in a dance of words and opinions, these friends share a meal and drinks and attempt to understand their new calling for self-expression, in the form of this podcast. They share their points of view and use that same opportunity to share new music from their musician friends from local and foreign lands! read less

Art: is it a work of passion or is it just a profession? (EP 3)
In today’s episode, our 2 friends discuss art: is it a work of passion or is it just a profession? As usual, they will be talking about whatever comes to their minds! They begin with a clip which talks about G. W. Bush’s recent post-politics artistic endeavour. They’ll try to understand why people get into art, starting by trying to come up with a personal definition for the words “Art”, “Artist”, “Creativity”, and “Passion". They then will try to figure out what it takes to be an artist. Do you need education and many years of experience? They’ll explore going from consuming art to creating it, and discuss the resistance many of us feel when we try to do something new and creative. They’ll have fun realizing how the universe seems to conspire in our desire to create by bringing all sorts of synchronicities. It seems that time goes by faster when we are doing something we’re passionate about! Also, can art be used as a form of therapy? Is war (conflict) potentially the root of the artistic calling? Are pressure and pain conduits to art? Who determines the value of art? Can you even separate the artist from the art? Join us for a new episode and feel free to comment!Reference Material:Book: "The War of Art" by Steven PressfieldYT channel: "The futur" with Chris Do: https://www.youtube.com/@thefuturCredits for this episode:Songs:- Intro: "Candy Cane" by Keagan Midas- Mid: "Walk On" by Keagan Midas- Outro: "Spaces over Time" by Keagan Midas (feat Yak Steady)https://soundcloud.com/keagan-midasThumbnail Artifact:"professional-retro-microphone--dj-headphones-" by www.ilmicrofono.it is licensed under CC BY 2.0.
