This week on The Pod Charles Cinecast, presented by The Prince Charles Cinema, our hosts Jonathan Foster and Fil Freitas celebrate Thanksgiving with the spookiest family around, THE ADDAMS FAMILY!
Join us, in this special Thanksgiving episode, where we not only dip into the Filaversary, with one of the best Thanksgiving films of all-time, ADDAMS FAMILY VALUES (1993), but because we've never talked about it, we cover 1991's THE ADDAMS FAMILY – both directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, and starring Raul Julia, Anjelica Huston, Christopher Lloyd and Christina Ricci. It's a 2-4-1 special, that is heaps of fun, as we praise the chemistry between Gomez and Morticia, and give a little history about The Addams Family clan from its start in Charles Addams comics to its 60s television series, right up to the 1990s big screen exploits. Along the way, we tip our caps to Christina Ricci's tremendous performance as Wednesday Addams and her cutting down the dark history of America and Thanksgiving, and we bow down to Joan Cusack, who steals the show as Fester's wife Debbie.
So grab a turkey leg, drown your sorrows in gravy, pop this episode on your player of choice, and tuck into some Thanksgiving with The Pod Charles Cinecast and The Addams Family!
"My name is Fester. It means 'to rot.'"
