This week, the UK True Crime podcast is from Cambuslang, about 6 miles southeast of the centre of Glasgow, as I look at a terrifying double murder. The body of 36 year-old taxi driver Cathy McChord was found with her body crammed into the boot of the car, with the meter still running. Cathy’s cigarette lighter, inhaler and car keys placed in a straight-line. Suggesting a ritualistic element to the crime. Two months after Cathy’s murder another body was found when 48 year-old Elizabeth Walton was found in the grounds of her daughter’s school. After declining a lift home, Elizabeth was attacked and then strangled as she walked back home from an evening out. When police found Elizabeth’s body they found ritualistic and symbolic acts had taken place, similar to those of Cathy. The police knew they were searching for a double killer..... On Sunday I watched the excellent live show, The Makings of a Murderer, with ex-detective David Swindle. How we enjoy a wedding reception in the UK. A chance to celebrate a very special day for the newly-married couple before they divorce. This wedding in Guilford, Surrey, was just like so many others until the Bride and Groom left the venue at about 10pm. It was then that the violence started....

The National Crime Agency (NCA) received intelligence that a gang in Kent were potentially obtaining dangerous guns which they planned to sell on the streets of the UK. In this episode of the UK True Crime Podcast, we watch on as the gang continue their planning unaware that their telephones and satnav have been intercepted by the NCA....

It was a dark, winters morning as the 10 men group carried out maintenance on the railway line near Tebay. The men wore their safety helmets to block out the noise of their machinery and there was no look-out as the line was closed in both directions. So when the 20 tonne wagon came hurtling down the track towards them at 40 miles per hour it was completely unexpected. As one fellow worker put it, "This was the worst nightmare for any rail man - an un-manned wagon coming straight at you out of the pitch darkness." Harry was found downstairs in the utility room. He had been shot once, through the back, piercing his heart and killing him almost instantly. Nicola was upstairs in the main bedroom.
