I often get asked by aspiring speakers, how can I get on the stage at LASHCON? When people reach out to me and ask this, I always feel so honored anyone would want to be part of our event. In today's episode, we continue our talk we started last week, where we share some behind-the-scenes stuff that happened to us. We were basically being accused of being elites....some lash artists reached out to me to let me know they didn't feel welcome at LASHCON because our event didn't feel inclusive. Turned out most of them hadn't been to our event or even gone to our website. That said, I believe their frustrations are legit and that our industry hasn't always been as accepting as I wish it should be. As we thought about their issues, we realized that some of the people who reached out were just frustrated that they haven't been asked to speak or being part of any lash conference. So last week we talked about how it took us 14 years before we got asked to speak at a conference, and this week we want to share how we select speakers or our event. We hope that by sharing these short stories and insights it will encourage you to pursue your dreams and not give up (the dream doesn't need to be about speaking at a lash event).
