Ken Wiebe and Sean Reynolds of Sportsnet dissect the Winnipeg Jets 4-2 loss to the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday night. That left the Jets with seven losses over the past eight games as their record dipped to 36-26-3 on the season. With 17 games left to go in the regular season, the Jets cushion for the eighth and final spot in the Western Conference has almost evaporated entirely, as the Calgary Flames are four points back (and even in games played) and the Nashville Predators are six points back (with four games in hand). The Jets open a three-game road trip against Paul Maurice and the Florida Panthers on Saturday and they'll be without centre Pierre-Luc Dubois, who suffered a lower-body injury on Monday against the San Jose Sharks. Jets head coach Rick Bowness said the hope is that Dubois could rejoin the Jets before the road trip is complete.
