With so many dependents, time management is a skill that you can master!

As many of you know, I have a booming side hustle Also Sophia LTD (on Walmart shelves currently), working my 9-5 currently and yes, I am a MOM! I’m not telling you all of this to brag, but to give you context on why time management is so important for me to manage the time in my day.

Here are my best tips that you can put into action!

  1. Choose the best time to complete your deliverables that will align with your, energy level, attention, and creativity. For example, I will do high-priority deliverables that require a high level of attention between the hours of 10 am to 12 pm when my attention and energy are at the peak of the day. Segmenting your day will help you not only manage your time but also your energy level so you make the most out of the time that you have! “Remember, you own your calendar, your calendar doesn’t own you”.
  2. Segment the days of your week. Chuck out your daily theme for the day of the week to help you get into the daily flow. For those who work from home, this would help you manage the time on the road, by completing all in-person meetings in one day (if possible). For example, I have all external community meetings on Thursdays and all internal meetings on Tuesdays and Fridays. This leaves Mondays and Wednesdays as office/catch-up days.
  3. Do a Daily Shut Down, where you close your browser tabs, organize files, and take your inbox to ZERO! This will help you segment your day so your “work life” doesn’t run into your Home Life or social calendar. If there is an item that is not completed or a to-do that didn’t get completed, I schedule time for this item into my calendar!
