Kintsugi Talks

Saroya Brown

Kintsugi means "joining with gold" in Japanese. The centuries old art is more than an aesthetic. For the japanese, it's part of a broader philosophy of embracing the beauty of human flaws. It reminds us that something can break and yet still be beautiful. Once it's repaired, it's stronger in the places it was once broken. Here I want to bridge the gap in having conversations about God, Mental Health/Illness, and everything in between whole also showing that what you consider to be broken and/or imperfect, God sees as a masterpiece.
