Carl is fed up and calling BS with the media's narrative that there is a surge in anti-Asian crime. Carl recognizes that anti-Asian violence is a problem but that it's not a new one by sharing stories of the tension between Black and Asian communities interacted back in 1980's Los Angeles. The only surge in anti-Asian crime is a surge of the media coverage and the lie of blaming it on white-nationalist Trump supporters.
