Built in 1872, by son of renowned architect John Haviland, Edward Haviland, the jail would be known for hanging 11 men in its day and selling tickets to watch. The legend of "The man that would not hang" about a man named Smitty takes place in this historic building, and is never solved. The jail would close down in 1997 and become the towns records building. Since its closure, there have been many claims of paranormal activity like, screams, breezes, knocks, and interactions with an intelligent spirit named...Smitty! In the 1950's a man named Don julian Santana Barrera would travel here and claim to find the body of a drowned little girl.He eventually abandoned his family and moved to the small island, creating a shrine to the spirit of the little. Over time his collection of dolls grew into the tens of thousands and would become a dark attraction. When Don Julian died in the same spot he claimed to have found the body of the girl, his nephew took over the island and it has become a travel destination. Andrew Dexter was born in 1969 in Bargoed, and for the next decade of his life, his family would be plagued with paranormal activity. Gladstone Villa built in the early 1900's and named after a former Prime Minister was the sight of many stories. Everything from apparitions, footsteps, babies crying, things moving and more were reported here. But the figure of a monk would stand out above all. The familt managed to stay for almost 10 years and left in 1978, but future occupants would also claim to see and hear things in this house. In the 1700's Jamaica was crowded with sugar cane plantations that have since been burnt down in the great slave revolts...however, a few still stand today, including The Rose Hall Plantation. Rumored to be the home of Annie Palmer known as the white witch, legend says she was murdered here by one of the slave lovers she took.
